چکیده
Containers such as Docker provide a lightweight virtualization technology. They have gained popularity in developing, deploying and managing applications across Cloud platforms. Container management orchestration platforms Kubernetes run application containers virtual clusters that abstract the overheads underlying infrastructures to simplify deployment of container solutions. These are well suited for modern web can give rise geographic fluctuations use based on location users. Such often require dynamic global A key issue is decide how adapt number placement maintain performance, whilst incurring minimum operating adaptation costs. Manual decisions naive to: over-provisioning hence cost issues; improper performance issues, and/or unnecessary relocations resulting issues. Elastic solutions essential support automated intelligent geographically distributed Clouds. In this article, we propose an approach continuously makes elastic plans aimed at optimizing even during processes, meet service level objectives (SLOs) lower Meta-heuristics used cluster adjustment. We conduct experiments Australia-wide National eResearch Collaboration Tools Resources Research using Kubernetes. Results show with only 0.5 ms sacrifice SLO 95th percentile response times able achieve up 44.44% improvement (reduction) compared approach.

An Efficient Scheduling of HPC Applications on Geographically Distributed Cloud Data Centers
Cloud computing provides a flexible infrastructure for IT industries to run their High Performance Computing (HPC) applications. Cloud providers deliver such computing infrastructures through a set of data centers called a cloud federation. The data centers of a cloud federation are usually distributed over the world. The profit of cloud providers strongly depends on the cost of energy consumpt...
متن کاملOnline virtual machine migration for renewable energy usage maximization in geographically distributed cloud data centers
Energy consumption and its associated costs represent a huge part of cloud providers’ operational costs. In this paper, we explore how much energy cost savings can be made knowing the future level of renewable energy (solar/wind) available in data centers. Since renewable energy sources have intermittent nature, we take advantage of migrating Virtual Machines (VMs) to the nearby data centers wi...

eScience demands large-scale computing clusters to support the efficient execution of resource-intensive scientific applications. Virtual Machines (VMs) have introduced the ability to provide customizable execution environments, at the expense of performance loss for applications. However, in recent years, containers have emerged as a light-weight virtualization technology compared to VMs. Inde...
متن کاملCutting Down the Energy Cost of Geographically Distributed Cloud Data Centers
The energy costs constitute a significant portion of the total cost of cloud providers. The major cloud data centers are often geographically distributed, and this brings an opportunity to minimize their energy cost. In this work, we model a geographically distributed data center network that is specialized to run batch jobs. Taking into account the spatio-temporal variation in the electricity ...
متن کاملSLM: Synchronized Live Migration of Virtual Clusters across Data Centers
Cluster platforms, deployed in data centers worldwide, are the backbone of the popular cloud computing services. For scalability, manageability and resource utilization, one physical machine in the cloud platform can be virtualized into a bundle of virtual machines (VMs). Each VM works as an independent node. To solve a time consuming task, several VMs are grouped as a virtual cluster and colla...
